Akshardham Temple

It is the most beautiful and most recently built temple in Delhi with many ritual values. Akshardham Temple of New Delhi is built in a very structural style. The temple is made up of stones only without using any kind of steel, only sandstone and marble have been used. Approximately 234 ornate pillars, floral motifs, arches, exquisitely carved pavilions, 9 ornate domes, 20 quadrangle shikhars, spectacular Gajendra Pith (Plinth of Stone Elephants) adorn this architectural wonder. There are 20,000 statues of great sadhus, devotees, acharyas and divine persons inside this temple.

Haridwar Rishikesh

There are many temples and religious places in Haridwar and Rishikesh which are worth visiting not only because they are extremely beautiful, but also help to alleviate the soul of visitors. These sites are very popular among tourists. In Haridwar, thousands of floating Diyas (lamps) on the surface of the rive Ganga illuminate the holy water, after the evening Arti gets over.

Gangotri Temple

This Temple is dedicated to the Goddess of Ganga. The origin of the sacred river Ganges, attracts tourists in large numbers every year. This picturesque pilgrimage in the hinterlands of the Himalayas is the most sacred spot where Ganga, the stream of life, touched earth for the first time.

Kedarnath Temple

The abode of Lord Shiva is amidst the dramatic landscapes of the majestic Kedarnath range. Situated in the Uttar Kashi district of the northern state of Uttaranchal, it is the source of the Mandakini River. It is one of the twelve ‘Jyotirlingas’ of Kedar or Lord Shiva. Kedarnath is amongst the holiest pilgrimages for the Hindus and is said to be more than a 1000 years old.

Amarnath Temple

Amarnath Temple Pilgrimage is an annual pilgrimage being made to the shrine Amarnath Temple by thousands of Hindu devotees on challenging mountainous terrain. Located in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir and situated on Mount Amarnath, the Amarnath are one of the most famous shrines in Hinduism. Dedicated to the god Shiva, the shrine is said to be over 5,000 years old. The shrine forms an important part of Hinduism.The cave is surrounded by snowy mountains. The cave itself is covered with snow most time of the year except for a short period of time in summer when it is open for pilgrims.

Triveni Sangam (Allahabad)

In Hindu tradition Triveni Sangam is the “confluence” of three rivers. Sangama is the Sanskrit word for confluence. The point of confluence is a sacred place for Hindus. A bath here is said to wash away all of one’s sins and free one from the cycle of rebirth.The Triveni Sangam in Allahabad is a confluence of 3 rivers, the Ganges, Yamuna, and Saraswati. Of these three, the river Saraswati is invisible and is said to flow underground and join the other two rivers from below.Maha Mela (held every year) are held on the banks of the Sangam, during which periods hundred thousands of pilgrims throng to the place to take holy dip in the confluence.

Gaya

Sacred places in Gaya correspond to physical features, most of which occur naturally. Ghats and temples line the banks of the sacred Falgu River. Trees such as pipal trees and Akshayavat, the undying banyan, are especially sacred. The Mangla Gauri shrine is marked by two rounded stones that symbolize the breasts of the mythological Sati, the first wife of Lord Shiva. The most popular temple today is Vishnupad Temple, a place along the Falgu River, marked by a footprint of Vishnu incised into a block of basalt, that marks the act of Lord Vishnu subduing Gayasur by placing his foot on Gayasur’s chest. Gaya is significant to Hindus from the point of view of salvation to the souls of ancestors.

Mathura- Vrindavan

Both the places are related to Lord Krishna of Indian Mythology and are considered as utmost sacred places.It is known to be the birth place of Lord Krishna. One can have a spiritual expedition by visiting the temples here. The cultural wealth is reflective in the architecture of the temples and the festivals and fairs that are held here. People from all over the country come here and visit the temples.

Yamunotri Temple

Yamunotri Temple in Uttaranchal, perched at Bandar Poonch Parvat, is one of the four Char Dham Temples in the Char Dham Pilgrimage. Yamunotri Temple in Uttaranchal is flourished with a number of thermal springs which flow into numerous pools.

Badrinath Temple

The abode of Lord Vishnu is the holiest of the four main shrines. Cradled in the twin mountain ranges of Nar and Narayan it lays along the left of the river Alaknanda. The temple of Shri Badrinathji dates back to the Vedic times. Devotees take a holy dip in the natural thermal springs on the banks of the river Alaknanda, before entering the Sri Badrinathji Temple. The water of the Kund is believed to have medicinal properties.

Vaishno Devi Temple

The Vaishno Devi temple is recognized as one of the “Shakti Peeths” of goddess ‘ Durga’.This holy shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi which is situated in the folds of mighty ‘Tirkuta’ Hills’ attracts lakhs of devotees from all parts of India and abroad . People who visit the shrine constitute a heterogeneous profile comprising of wealthy & poor, aged & young, males & females from within and outside the country.

Kailash—Mansarovar Yatra

As per, Hindu Scriptures, significance of Kailash-mansarovar yatra is immense. Kailash is considered as abode of Shiva-Parvatiji.
